Brian is Chairman of the Board of Directors for CST Trust Company and President and Chief Executive Officer for the AST Group. As CEO, Brian leads an executive leadership team focused on the consistent delivery of excellent service to customers and the execution of strategic plans aimed at the continued growth of the AST Group across North America.
Brian is an accomplished executive with more than 25 years of experience generating significant revenue and earnings growth, particularly in the financial technology sector. Prior to joining AST, Brian was Chief Executive Officer of Wolters Kluwer Financial and Compliance Services, where he developed and implemented strategies that transformed the company into a leading global financial services information technology business. He has also served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Paragon Holdings/A.B. Dick Company and was President of Bell and Howell Imaging Companies.
Brian holds a three-year appointment as a Director on the U.S. Advisory Board of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He also serves on the global board of Operation Hope and is a member of the Bretton Woods Committee on Global Finance Policy.
Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Albion College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
Margot serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of CST Trust Company. With more than 15 years in senior roles in financial services across finance, sales, relationship management and product development, Margot brings significant industry insight to the organization. Most recently she was Interim President and CEO and Executive Vice President, Business Development & Strategy across all business lines at CST and managed initiatives focused on maximizing client satisfaction.
Prior to joining CST, Margot was at Computershare as the SVP, Investor Services accountable for the growth and strategic direction of the Investor Services business units in Canada.
Margot is a member of the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries, CIRI, Woman in Capital Markets Association and the Woman's Executive Network. Margot was awarded the Fellow, Institute of Canadian Bankers (FICB) designation in 2013 and has completed the Canadian Board Diversity Council Level I, Governance Education Program.
Mark brings more than 20 years of legal and compliance experience to his current role at CSTT. Prior to joining the company, he was General Counsel, Head of Legal and Compliance at CACEIS (Canada) Limited, part of the CACEIS Group, a leading international provider of fund administration services. In his prior role he managed legal and compliance risks spanning across multiple jurisdictions including Canada, U.S., Bermuda, Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands and Bahamas, among others. In addition, Mark previously served as Senior Legal Counsel, Investment Funds Branch at the Ontario Securities Commission where he was involved in the review of prospectus filings, applications for exemption, policy development and rulemaking.
Mark received his J.D. degree from the University of Ottawa School of Law and his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University.Mary-Lou Duffy
Mary-Lou serves as Vice President of CST Trust Company, responsible for accounting and finance operations in Canada. She brings over 25 years of experience in a diverse range of sectors, with the past 15 years in financial services.
Most recently, Mary-Lou was Vice President, Finance at PRESTO, a division of Metrolinx. She was responsible for establishing the finance division, insourcing previously outsourced finance operations and creating the capability and capacity to support exponential growth. In this role she was also responsible for the full range of finance activities plus vendor management, business intelligence and risk management.
Previously, Mary-Lou was at Canadian Tire Financial Services. She led a number of projects, including the establishment of Canadian Tire Bank. She acted as the Bank's first Chief Compliance Officer, establishing regulatory relations and an enterprise wide compliance program. Mary-Lou also held a variety of finance roles and was responsible for a series of system and process enhancements, elevating the performance and efficiency of the finance team.
Mary-Lou holds an Honours Bachelor of Physical Education from McMaster University and a Masters in Business Administration from the School of Business at McMaster University. She earned her designation as a Chartered Accountant while at Ernst & Young.
With nearly 30 years of trust company experience, Margaret oversees all technology areas within CSTT, including the management of all CSTT IT projects. Margaret has been a key player on numerous system and client conversions as well as an integral part of the design and development of new functions and applications because of her previous business roles.
